What it is

Deep tissue therapy works through the deeper layers of muscle and fascia with slow, sustained pressure rather than force. It is built for the tightness that stretching, foam rolling, and a good night's sleep no longer touch — the years-old low back, the desk-bound shoulders, the hips that never quite open.

How the session runs

  1. 01

    Assessment first

We map where the pain lives, what makes it worse, and how you move before any hands-on work starts.

  2. 02

    Warm-up layer

Broad strokes and heat prepare the tissue — going deep on cold muscle is how people leave sore for days.

  3. 03

    Targeted depth

Forearms, elbows, and thumbs work slowly through specific bands of tissue while you breathe into the pressure.

  4. 04

    Integrate and advise

The session closes with flushing strokes and, if useful, two or three drills to hold the change between visits.

Benefits

What deep tissue therapy does for you

  • Real relief from chronic pain

Working the deeper layers releases the tension patterns that keep referring pain back into the same spots week after week.

  • Restored range of motion

Freeing restricted fascia around the hips, thoracic spine, and shoulders usually gives back movement you'd written off.

  • Better posture

Releasing shortened chest, hip flexor, and neck tissue lets you stand and sit upright without holding yourself there.

  • Fewer tension headaches

Much of what reads as a headache starts in the upper traps, scalenes, and the base of the skull.

  • Longer-lasting results

Because the work reaches the source, relief typically holds for weeks rather than hours.

  • Pressure you control

Deep should feel productive, never punishing. We check in throughout and pressure changes the moment you say so.

In their words

Clients on this session

  • I came in barely able to turn my neck after months at a desk and a bad night of sleep. He took the time to actually assess what was happening instead of going straight to the table, and the pressure was exactly where it needed to be. Three sessions later I'm back at the gym and sleeping through the night. The space is calm, the music is low, and I never once felt rushed or upsold.

  • Professional from the first message to the last minute of the session. Easy to book, on time, clean room, and real therapeutic work rather than a spa routine. My lower back has been an issue for years and the deep tissue session gave me more relief than a month of stretching.

Questions

Deep Tissue Therapy FAQ

Is deep tissue going to hurt?
It should feel like productive pressure you can breathe through — a good ache, not pain. We set a baseline at the start and adjust immediately if it crosses the line.
Will I be sore afterward?
Mild tenderness for a day is normal, similar to after a good workout. Water, gentle movement, and no heavy training for a few hours keeps it minimal.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people feel a clear difference after the first session. For long-standing pain, two or three sessions a few weeks apart tends to hold the change.
Can you focus only on my back?
Yes. Tell us at intake and the whole hour goes to the back, hips, and shoulders instead of full body.
