What it is

Traditional Thai bodywork is performed clothed, without oil, using palm and forearm compression, rocking, and therapist-guided stretches along the body's energy lines. It opens hips, shoulders, and spine while calming the nervous system — closer to being moved through slow, assisted yoga than to a conventional table massage.

How the session runs

  1. 01

    Intake and plan

We talk through restrictions, injuries, and how much stretch intensity you want today.

  2. 02

    Feet and legs first

Work traditionally begins at the feet and moves upward, warming the lines before any stretching.

  3. 03

    Compression and stretch

Palm compression alternates with guided stretches for hips, hamstrings, spine, and shoulders.

  4. 04

    Close at the neck

The sequence finishes with neck, scalp, and shoulder work, then simple aftercare.

Benefits

What traditional thai massage does for you

  • Range of motion you can feel walking out

Assisted stretching takes joints through end range safely, restoring movement that static stretching misses.

  • Deep pressure without deep digging

Broad palm and forearm compression reaches deep tissue while staying comfortable throughout.

  • Nervous-system calm

Rhythmic rocking and paced breathing pull you out of fight-or-flight during the session itself.

  • Hips and low back opened together

Thai sequences treat the hip, hamstring, and low back as one chain rather than three separate complaints.

  • No oil, no shower after

You stay clothed in comfortable layers and leave ready for the rest of your day.

  • Pairs with recovery work

Excellent as a mobility-focused alternative in weeks when deeper tissue work would be too much.

In their words

Clients on this session

  • Professional from the first message to the last minute of the session. Easy to book, on time, clean room, and real therapeutic work rather than a spa routine. My lower back has been an issue for years and the deep tissue session gave me more relief than a month of stretching.

  • I booked a 90 minute Swedish just to decompress and ended up rebooking before I left. Warm, respectful, and truly skilled — you can tell this is someone who has been doing this a long time. The whole experience feels far more expensive than it is.

Questions

Traditional Thai Massage FAQ

What should I wear?
Comfortable, stretchable clothing — athletic wear is ideal. No oil is used and you stay fully clothed.
Does it hurt?
It should feel productive, never painful. Stretch depth and compression are set by you and checked throughout.
Is it done on a mat or table?
Traditional sequences work best on the mat; some elements can be adapted to the table if mobility requires it.
How is it different from FST?
Thai includes compression along energy lines and a traditional sequence. FST is a focused, table-based fascial protocol.
